WHAT I DO

I help CEOs and leadership teams close the gap between what leaders say and what their people actually hear, interpret, and act on.

Growth puts strain on people, culture, and communication. Expectations stop landing consistently. Meetings multiply. Good people start missing. Most of those problems didn’t need to exist. That’s where I work.

I’m a PhD behavior analyst, and I coach in the real conversations, not a training room. Most of my engagements are long-term and embedded with the leadership team, so the coaching happens when the stakes are live. That’s where behavior actually changes.

And when growth means hiring, I help you get the right people in the right seats from the start, so you’re not paying for the same mistake twice.

HOW I WORK

Every engagement is built for the leader and the business. No template, no program-and-leave. That said, the work usually takes one of four shapes.

Executive coaching

One-on-one work with CEOs, founders, and senior leaders on communication, decision-making, and presence. Direct feedback when it counts, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Leadership team alignment

Getting the team on the same page about expectations, accountability, and priorities. Then making sure that alignment survives contact with a busy quarter.

Growing-company support

For companies scaling fast, I work across the leadership layer: coaching directors, translating values into observable behaviors, and building the communication habits that keep execution clean as headcount grows.

Talent strategy and team fit

Hiring mistakes are expensive. So is leaving a good person in the wrong seat. I start with the position, not the person. Using validated behavioral assessments, I help you define what success in a role actually requires, then hire, place, and develop people against that standard.

I’ve built this for companies opening their next ten locations, for owners hiring the frontline people who are the customer experience, and for CEOs deciding which of their directors is ready for a bigger seat.

Most engagements are long-term, on a flat monthly retainer, integrated into how you already operate. I’m in real meetings and real decisions, not an annual offsite. I keep a selective roster on purpose.

The best fit: leaders who want to be great and are honest about where they need to grow. If you want a certificate program, I’m not your person. If you want someone in the room who will tell you the truth, we’ll get along.

ABOUT JANINE

I’m Dr. Janine Stichter. PhD behavior analyst, executive coach, and consultant to CEOs and leadership teams at growing companies.

I spent the first part of my career as a researcher, studying how people actually change behavior. Not how we wish they would. The science is clear: people don’t change from frameworks in a room. They change in real moments, with real stakes, when someone helps them see the pattern and do the next thing differently.

So that’s how I work. I embed with leaders long-term. I watch the real conversations, the real meetings, the real emails that land wrong. Then I help leaders close the gap between what they meant and what their team heard.

I’ve done this work with manufacturers, consumer brands, financial firms, fitness companies, and founder-led businesses across the country. One of them is international.

I gave a TEDx talk on how difficult conversations create growth. Twelve minutes, and it’ll tell you how I think.

Home base is Columbia, Missouri. Off the clock I’m usually staying active, and I have a thing for designing spaces, how a room flows and feels. Your environment shapes your outcomes. That’s as true in an office as it is in a house, and my clients get feedback on both.

4 areas to support positive work culture

Everyone wants a positive work culture, but what does that mean and how do you accomplish that?  We can all envision it right? Employees come to work engaged, highly productive and overall proud and happy to be at work. Yet why do so many businesses struggle to achieve this?

How to make your busy count

We are all busy.

We are constantly working, engaged in family activities, volunteering; only coming up periodically to get the bills paid and do laundry.

Everyone has a different combination of busy, hopefully sprinkled with some fun activities, but we would be hard pressed to find someone who wouldn’t say...

Over-Worked or Under-Rested

I overheard the following conversation the other day in a large group of women.

“Wow your skin looks really good, did you have some work done?”

“Uh, no. But I have been prioritizing getting some more sleep...
